Chronicles of a Diamond Black Pumas

The latest from the multi-Grammy-nominated Soul group finds them expanding their sound into fuzzed-out Rock, Psych, and more. Having energised audiences with their rapturous live shows the duo of Eric Burton and Adrian Quesada takes the adventurous step of crafting a true studio album that adds rich depth to their live sound. The result is more cinematic, drawing on Quesada’s soundtrack production work, yet also more immediate as Burton settles into offering more of his reflective personality in his poetic lyrics. Tender emotion bubbles through on ‘Tomorrow’, swirling Psych Rock permeates ‘Rock and Roll’, while ‘Ice Cream (Pay Phone)’ is a feelgood Indie Pop love song that’s likely to be the band’s next hit. More Grammy nominations are likely just around the corner.
