Marketing and Community Manager

Open Ear Music are looking for a fresh-thinking marketing & community manager to join the team to support our ambitious growth as the go-to music curation service for businesses that get that music moves people.

Open Ear is a music agency specialising in music strategy and playlist design for the hospitality, leisure, and retail industries. We believe in the power of music - when music is used effectively, businesses see better customer engagement and brand resonance.

We’ve been helping businesses enhance their use of music for thirteen years. Our expertise, combined with our technology platform and app building capability, allows us to harness the power of music across all touchpoints - in-store, online and mobile.

We are looking for an open-minded independent thinker who is able to turn insights into impactful stories through a confident use and understanding of digital marketing. The ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate their understanding of what makes a good marketing campaign great, in both online and physical spaces. Ideally, you will also have some experience designing basic assets for social media, copywriting, and confidence in forging relationships with partners.

As the community manager, you will be responsible for managing relationships with our growing global community of partners, DJs, and other industry professionals. We’re looking for a good communicator, a people person, and someone who likes to get stuck in.

  • 1-2 years experience in a marketing support role, content creation, social media management or community manager, alternatively a demonstrable ability and interest
  • Prior experience using design tools: Photoshop, In-Design, Illustrator, or similar
  • Prior experience copywriting for CRM mailers using Mailchimp or similar software
  • Understanding of paid media campaigns: Facebook for business, Google Adwords
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills


  • Manage all relevant social marketing channels for Open Ear consistently
  • Build on the Open Ear CRM monthly/quarterly email strategy
  • Plan and build clients ‘Team Connect’ & News Bulletins
  • Design simple and effective assets for marketing purposes
  • Assist with the content and building of client pitch decks
  • Oversee budget and report on ROI for Google Ads / Social Advertising
  • Develop and manage our global music curator and partner community including onboarding, software training, and relationship building
  • Assist with partner opportunities to maximise new business and sales objectives

Salary: Dependent on experience

  • Our hiring process consists of two stages. The first, to get a sense of your suitability with two members of our team from different departments, where you will have the chance to ask questions and get to know us a little too.
