Volcano Jungle

The fourth album release from Jungle finds them in buoyant form delivering a collection that expands on their sound while leaning into Disco and Soul. Opener ‘Us Against The World’ takes the snapshot, declarative lyrics and deep grooves of SAULT as its blueprint while the following track, ‘Holding On’, plays on the contrast between a deep sub-bass stomp interspersed with sweet Soul vocals. Elsewhere there is soft, airy, laidback Hip Hop with vocals from Channel Tres on ‘I’ve Been in Love’, while we’re thrilled for the all too brief but very welcome return of Roots Manuva on backing vocal duties on ‘You Ain’t No Celebrity’. Spreading good vibes throughout, the latest from Jungle finds them continuing to deliver a near-genreless feast of organic grooves and lush textures on an album that is rich and welcoming.
