Their first release as a duo, Adigéry and Pupul deliver an ecstatic mix of socially conscious dance floor-focused Electro, French House and Pop. Co-written and produced by Soulwax and released on their label, Adigéry and Pupul follow in that band's footsteps as they capture a danceable Post-Punk spirit while utilising contemporary beats. Filled with knowing wit, ‘Topical Dancer’ flits between topics from racism to political correctness to Pop music clichés and skewers harmful narratives with humour and empathy. It’s a careful balancing act as lyrical sarcasm is backed by arms-aloft beats while carefully eschewing cynicism, nowhere more successfully than on infectious album highlight ‘Blenda’.
