Starfruit Moonchild

While their sound has always been warm, organic and open, the latest from Moonchild, featuring multiple guest vocalists, may be the most community minded album yet. The signature understated Neo-Soul remains, as do the delicate Jazz and Funk touches, but alongside the guests are new synth elements that further expand the rich palette of sound here. Rather than individual tracks, it’s the secondary instrumentation as a whole that are the highlight as a piano riff here and a clarinet there provide thrills time and again.
