Abundant with textures and complementary grooves, 'Mood Valiant’ is an eclectic third album from Hiatus Kaiyote. There’s no doubt the band have been working hard in the six years since their previous release both through touring to pay for a trip to Brazil to record with Arthur Verocai and through a successful recovery from breast cancer for lead singer Nai Palm. The resulting album is one filled with creative promise that spills out with ebullient joy on ‘Get Sun’ featuring Verocai along with many more of these tracks. While Nai Palm’s vocals continue to be the element that elevates the band to among the best in Neo-Soul, the band's musicality flows like few others.
