Created almost entirely using iPhone and iPad apps, ‘Houses’ explores the many reaches of Dance music. Sturdy, immediate, deep and dark, it’s an album of momentum and shifting palettes. One such shift comes on the dissolve from solid House beat plus vocals into madcap electronics on ‘Where We Go’ before the vocals regain control, chopped and insistent. The following track ‘Tell Me’ undergoes a similar metamorphosis as an anthemic club track claws its way out from an Electro synth intro. Overall, ‘Houses’ is marked by its about-faces, propelling the listener along with little opportunity to let a beat linger. Cue it up and jump in.
