Close It Quietly Frankie Cosmos

Soft Indie sprinkled with plenty of snappy moments are the cornerstone of Frankie Cosmos’ latest, ‘Close It Quietly’. Greta Kline’s vocals recall Belle & Sebastian while the album’s melodies tend towards a light naivety or even a singsong-y nature. Throughout each of the 21 short tracks runs a dreamlike quality that ties everything together and allows each track to slip seamlessly into the next. At its more uptempo end, like on ‘Last Seasons Textures’, there are hints the band are tempted to be less restrained. However, the overarching feeling is that little here has been over-thought lending the album a natural and endearing ease.
