The Power Of Sound

We know that music has the power to transform a space and set the mood. Whether it's a lively brunch spot or a romantic rooftop restaurant, the right playlist can create the perfect atmosphere for customers to relax, enjoy their meals and/or drinks, and ultimately stay for longer.

Research keeps showing us that customers tend to spend more per head in venues that play the music that matches their brand identity, and outdoor areas are no exception.

Not only can music enhance the customer experience, but it can also mask unwanted sounds. The sound of traffic or other outside noise can be disruptive, though, with the right music, guests can solely focus on having a great time.

Some considerations to help you get the most out of your outdoor spaces this summer season...

Setup

One of the greatest things about our software is that it can be flexible to your existing setup. Our Summer Offer can easily be managed with an iPad or tablet for wired systems and portable PA equipment in outdoor spaces and marquees.

If you’re planning to use a wireless speaker system such as Sonos, we have a simple Open Ear stream solution accessible via the TuneIn App and compatible speakers.

If you need support to get your sound system set up with Open Ear, our AV Partner Network may be able to help. Drop us an email at info@openearmusic.com and we’ll find the best solution for you.

Connectivity

Check that your WiFi connection is strong and stable enough if you’ll be relying on it for music to be played through your outdoor speakers. A minimum download speed of 16Mbps is recommended if sending a signal to a wireless speaker - check it via speedtest.net.

Alternatively, you may consider using ethernet cables for a stronger connection. If you’ll be using an iPad then the playlists would be downloaded first so that there wouldn't be bandwidth use on playback.

Energy & Noise

Consistent music volume across your space is ideal. One large speaker for a large outdoor area can be detrimental to customers sitting close to the source and may also disrupt the neighbours. Multiple speakers placed around the perimeter provide even coverage and mean you can play music at a lower volume for a more consistent ambiance.

Have a steer on the energy of the music playing via the Energy Slider feature on our Remote Manager App to tailor the vibe.

Licensing & Legality

Just like with any other business premise, you will be required by law to have both a PRS (Performing Rights Society) and a PPL (Phonographic Performance Ltd) Licence to play music in your outdoor space.

Terms

Our Summer Offer will be live for the summer months and will be discontinued no later than 1st October unless a new agreement is arranged for continued use.
