Praise A Lord Who Chews but Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds) Yves Tumor

Having released a string of increasingly rich albums, Yves Tumor has delivered a set of enveloping Art Rock that brims with frenetic emotion and tantalising hooks. Built on a raw guitar and synth base with driving programmed percussion, there are uncountable peaks amongst the warp and weft of atmospheric textures that continually twist and turn, taking in new directions in quick succession. Thus the instrumental ‘Purified By the Fire’ is as exhilarating and mesmerising as the chorus hook of ‘Fear Evil Like Fire’. Filled with drama, the latest from Yves Tumor is part of an upward trajectory in their songwriting that hints at a generational talent and that may be looked upon as a classic in years to come.
