Palomino First Aid Kit

After a four year gap, we are treated to album number five from First Aid Kit. A brighter collection than previous release ‘Ruins’, Klara and Johanna Söderberg expand on their Americana roots with forays into Indie Folk and light Country Rock. As always, the real joy of a First Aid Kit album are the sisters’ vocal harmonies that weave narratives of navigating relationships, finding joy, and taking the optimistic turn. There’s an overriding sense of timing ticking by though time and again it is translated as an optimistic sense of forward momentum, doubts left behind. Album highlight, the building ‘A Feeling That Never Came’ turns into the rockiest of the bunch with a low- key chugging guitar riff that is accompanied by bright string backing.
