Morfo Charlotte Dos Santos

The debut from Dos Santos is a sweeping, airy affair filled with careful percussion and grooving bass alongside Dos Santos’ soulful vocals. While tracks like ‘Ghost In The Shell’ lean into Pop, the trend is for a slower, more considered pace drawing on Neo-Soul and R&B.

While many of the tracks open with a slow orchestral build, it's the synth bass grooves that really stand out on tracks like ‘Patience’ and ‘Just Sayin’’ adding a layer of detail and nuance that elevates the whole. Dos Santos is at her finest when she sounds most personal on ‘Filha Do Sol’ and album closer ‘Aria 4 Arien’, both tracks where her vocals feel worn with life until the instrumentation builds to an impactful crescendo.
