Last Night In The Bittersweet Paolo Nutini

After an eight year gap, Paolo Nutini is back with a sixteen track LP that shows he’s lost none of his talent for the kind of impactful and affecting vocal tracks that made him a chart- topper. ‘Everywhere’ is a soaring guitar-based slice of timeless Pop that allows Nutini to stretch out into his dramatic, raw and full-throated bellow, ‘Abigail’ is a minimal acoustic slice of Americana, while ‘Children Of The Stars’ channels the rockier side of the classic Laurel Canyon sound. It’s a well rounded collection that ably allows Nutini to walk the soulful line between raw and tender that he’s so well known for. On his early releases he may have been considered an old soul, but with experience Nutini shows it was no illusion as he continues to excel.
