The latest from Foals finds the band reduced to a trio but still delivering a fully fleshed out sound. More focused than their last double LP, ‘Life Is Yours’ revels in Indie Disco by foregrounding keyboards and synths and allowing the guitars to take a step back. The result is an album that isn’t aimed straight at the dance floor but nonetheless captures the good time vibes Foals are likely to be dealing out throughout festival season with tracks like ‘2am’ bound to fit seamlessly alongside hits from the bands near 15 year career. That’s no bad thing as each propulsive track travels by at a fair clip while riffs and choruses remain catchy and ingratiating throughout.
