Hop Up Orlando Weeks

The second album from the former Maccabees frontman is bright, airy and joyful from start to finish. Focusing on the pleasures of parenthood, Weeks shares a rekindled curiosity and renewed perspective on life and love as he observes his new family dynamic. It’s an uplifting affair with absorbing and inquisitive rhythms featuring a particularly rich percussive palette that acts as heartbeat but also variously sparkles and hints at untouched horizons. Wearing influences of quirky kids TV music soundtracks as well as multi-layered Indie Psych, it’s a well-rounded, emotionally impactful album that manages to feel effortless and accessible all at once.
