Effortlessly recreating a high sheen 70s sound, the duo’s suite of 8 tracks is introduced by Bootsy Collins to make clear the authenticity and sincerity of the project. That’s valuable as the mood leans towards a joyous humour that in lesser hands may have risked pastiche. Instead we find productions filled with slick vocal harmonies and feel good rhythmic lines that ventures towards a more contemporary sound on ‘Smokin Out The Window’ but generally remains faithful to its influences, particularly on the emotive standout ‘Put On A Smile’.
