Glow Alice Phoebe Lou

Documenting a series of life changing events, ‘Glow’ finds Alice Phoebe Lou using her standout vocals to put feelings of love, heartbreak and self discovery into a delicately woven album of Lo-Fi leaning Indie. An analogue recording, with vocals cut straight to tape, the overall vibe is warm and unsurprisingly nostalgic as tape echo and spring reverb pad out the simple instrumentation.

Tracks clip by quickly, sliding between moods, where ‘Dusk’ is brisk and breezy, the following track ‘Mother’s Eyes’ dawdles and dwells. Elsewhere ‘Dirty Mouth’ hints at a bigger sound trying to get out, but the overall tone is understated and sweet though not so much as to become cloying.
