Flughand - iIi Flughand

Creating music all about the vibes, Florian Döring better known as Flughand, delivers an album of lounging instrumental Electronica that rarely sits still for long. Instead, each track comes as a sketched out rhythm before dropping out before ever overstaying its welcome. As each track flits by there are snatches of influences ranging from Stones Throw to TruThoughts as Dilla-style beats run in to Trip Hop, and Soul vibes meet deconstructed Pop R&B. There are several piano driven tracks like ‘astuii’ and the aptly titled ‘piano’, while vocal samples dominate on tracks like ‘ferio’. Straddling the line between a beat tape and a true album, it’s the accumulated warmth and weight of these tracks that ensure the vibes presented here are a welcome repeat listen.
