Ambrosia Byron the Aquarius

Dropping new music two months in a row, Byron the Aquarius follows up last month’s beat-focused ‘Apron EP’ with an album of jazzy instrumental House jams. Recorded in January with Detroit Techno legend Jeff Mills at the production helm, ‘Ambrosia’ retains a propulsive House feel while venturing far and wide through Samba, Be Bop and funky Jazz jams. The accomplished instrumental cast each lend verve as percussion, bass, horns and Byron’s own piano take turns at centre stage. Based around a half dozen tracks and fleshed out with alternate mixes that expand into full out jams and dub versioning, ‘Ambrosia’ is an adventurous and rich trip that vibrates with energy and heart.
