Having worked with some of the best in Hip Hop, from Wu Tang’s RZA to MF DOOM, Jneiro Jarel has made a name for himself as a singular producer. His own work has pushed boundaries and come to be known as a genre-less spot of innovation in the beat making world. His latest, ‘After a Thousand Years’ has been long in the making. Almost completed in 2018, Jarel suffered an ischemic stroke while in Costa Rica. Thankfully now in recovery, the album he presents is a global journey through the varied musical histories of the African diaspora. Taking in everything from Brazilian Bossa to New Orleans Jazz, it’s a vibrant and invigorating listen that expertly weaves through our global musical language.
