Jazz Is Dead 003 Adrian Younge, Ali Shaheed Muhammad & Marcos Valle

The third in the recently launched album series from Jazz Is Dead see’s Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad teaming up with another musical legend for a collaborative and easy going fresh set. This time around the respected master is Marcos Valle, a boundary blurring Brazilian native who has channeled Bossa Nova and Samba through Rock, Psychedelia and Jazz for the last fifty plus years. Here the mellow tempos of Bossa predominate while the loosest hints of Psych and Rock drift in and out on tracks like ‘Our Train’ providing space for those dulcet tempos to shift up in speed a hint. Warming and inviting, ‘Não Saia Da Praça’ is a highlight that perfectly balances contemporary trends and the history of Brazilian Pop.
