Yes Shinichi Atobe

Shinichi Atobe lets the music do the talking once again on a release that landed with his label, DDS, on an unmarked CD-R save for the track titles. Having previously taken a thirteen year break between releases, it’s great to see a more frequent release schedule from the reclusive producer. ‘Yes’ furthers Atobe’s drift into warmer House vibes while continuing his penchant for drawn out rhythm patterns and long builds. Retaining the lean nature of his Techno roots, we’re treated to crisp melodies and weighty bass that somehow still feels sprightly. The result is an exceptionally cohesive set of no frills beats that showcase purpose and verve.
