925 Sorry

After a long incubation that saw initial versions of several of ‘925’s tracks released three years ago, Sorry eventually have a long player to their name. At thirteen tracks it’s not a slim offering, providing instead a languid array of low Indie Rock grooves reminiscent of Garbage or The Kills. Flitting between the vocals of Asha Lorenz and Louis O’Bryen the sound shifts, at times chaotically, while retaining the dreamlike quality of morning slumber before a hangover kicks in. Most interesting are the hints at disparate influences, like on ‘Perfect’ where call and response vocals recall The Pixies while Lorenz’s vocal delivery of “just know I adore you” recalls a famed Stone Roses number. Spin this one and lose yourself spotting the influences.
