Eternity Bay The Saxophones

Opening with a slow lounge Jazz intro, ‘Eternity Bay’ is the sophomore release from former Jazz student Alexi Erenkov whose ‘The Saxophones’ with wife Alison is part pun, as their sound leans towards minimalist song-based Indie. With a laid back sound and a brooding take on life and what makes us tick, ‘Eternity Bay’ retains the depth of Jazz while aligning more closely with the sort of low-key emotive Indie of The Microphones or Spencer Krug. At its finest, like on ‘Take My Fantasy’ which hints at Bossa Nova stripped of all its swing, The Saxophones reveal poignant vignettes of life written from the corner of the room.
