Orígenes Sotomayor

Dividing and conquering on ‘Orígenes’ are siblings, producer Raul and vocalist Paulina. The duo bring an immediate, entrancing blend of Electro Cumbia that’s littered with Dancehall, Afrobeat, and Global House vibes. Built on a foundation of solid bass ready to shake stacks and Electro leaning toms, snares and claps, it’s a record that demands movement from the listener. Melodies and rhythms keep the hips moving, while Paulina’s vocals command attention as they dictate pace resulting in arms-aloft moments. This combo is clear from the opening track, as Paulina slides from a short rap into sung verse while Raul’s synths and percussion swiftly offer propulsion to the track while never losing step with the grooving rhythm.
