Having teased the release of this latest for approaching two years, it’s great to see the latest full-length from Theophilus London land. Drawing generously on Dancehall rhythms, complete with steel drums on the title track, the first few tracks set ‘Bebey’ up as a bright, fun-filled release. The turn to ballads on ‘Only You’ featuring Tame Impala and ‘Seals’ featuring Lil Yachty & Ian Isiah is a left turn. Yet it’s all just a warm up for a back-to-back pair of Hip Hop cuts that form the highlight of the album. First up ‘Whiplash’, again with Tame Impala, brings Electro vibes before ‘Whoop Tang Flow’ with Raekwon brings the best verses of the album. It’s a genre hopping release long in the making and well worth the wait.
