2 Steps Away The Pendletons

After releasing singles and EPs for nearly a decade, the debut album from The Pendletons has finally landed. Harking back to 70s Funk, Soul and Disco ‘2 Steps Away’ is elaborate and unrestrained. Featuring strong vocals, horns, guitar and flush with grand bass fills it’s an album that focuses on fun. That’s not to say that the tight rhythms slip when the band lets loose. Expertly crafted, every detail shines bright. The highlight comes in the vocal harmonies of ‘Keep It Working’ which sit above riffing sax, guitar, keys, and propulsive bass. It’s an impressively big and uncluttered sound considering so much is at work at once. Check it.
