Broadly familiar, ‘Weather’ sounds much like we’ve come to expect from Tycho’s Scott Hansen. His warm Electronica is polished and elegant, yet capable of delicacy, and builds off a subtle use of 4/4 kicks to maintain momentum.

What is new is the addition of Hannah Cottrell on vocal duties. No longer ambient Electronica, the vocal additions make tangible music that could at times be rather ethereal. The result is something akin to a cinematic soundtrack for closing credits; human yet separate. It’s an uncanny pairing and an interesting next step for Tycho.
