Dawnbreaker Daughter of Swords

Light, rich, and reflective, the acoustic Country Folk of ‘Dawnbreaker’ is without frills but Daughter of Swords has much to say. As one third of the band Mountain Man, this is Alexandra Sauser-Monnig’s first solo venture and it’s no personal journal. Instead, the narrative laces and tracks tales of relationships and the bonds that connect us. Often with little more than simple percussion and a guitar line, these tracks are minimal, open and surprisingly complete. The highlight is the uptempo ‘Rising Sun’ where a Country Blues guitar riff backs an all to brief harmonica jam.
