Way West XOA

Electronica and House mix in with Afro-Beat, Latin and Soul influences on an album that never ceases to be elegant and warming.

The earworm here is the Hollie Cook assisted ‘Heartland’, closely followed up by the title track which channels Romare with its sampled vocals and solid, Afro-beat percussion. Album closer ‘Out & Out’ is also ‘Way West’s’ finest moment as echoing voices, wood block percussion and rich synths come together before being joined by finger-picked guitar soaked in delay.

‘Way West’ is an organic smorgasbord of texture and colour that makes use of its gentle pacing to avoid bloating or sense of unneeded weight.
