Well this looks painful... A thrift shop in San Diego, California has had it's 2nd floor collapse under the weight of all the vinyl they had in storage. The entire mezzanine level came down over night, and while the movies suggest that Cali. will flatten if there's a big earthquake, we suspect their buildings are put together pretty tight. That must've been some collection, and we're left with the thought of creeky tenement flats jam-packed with LPs all over the UK. Perhaps we should go all digital before it's too late?

If you haven't caught it before, there's a great documentary about the awesome label Stones Throw Records, who come out of California, called 'Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton'. It features Madlib, MF Doom, J Dilla, Kanye, Snoop Dogg, ?uestlove, and so many more faces and voices that have to be heard. Now seems an apt time to make mention of it. The last time we checked it was available on Netflix.
