Brian Eno’s ‘Oblique Strategies’ are a tool used by many, and a joke to most. They consist of a deck of over 100 cards with motivational, inspirational or just plain odd suggestions for when a musician or producer gets a bit of writers block including such gems as; ‘Listen to the quiet voice’, ‘Faced with a choice, do both’ and ‘Abandon desire’. You can buy them if you’re so inclined.
