It would appear that the US state of Massachusetts is getting into a bit of a musical debate. Inspired by a 2007 article from the Guardian, a campaign has been launched to have ‘Roadrunner’ by Jonathon Richman and the Modern Lovers made the state song. Unfortunately, there’s been a snag in their plan; a counter campaign has started to have ‘Dream On’ by Aerosmith selected as the song to define a state. Both bands are, of course, from Massachusetts, but only the Modern Lovers tune contains the line “I’m in love with Massachusetts”. Surely it’s a simple choice?

We’re trying to think of a song for Glasgow. Suggestions in our particularly busy office today include ‘I Belong to Glasgow’ by Will Fyffe, ‘Glasgow’ by Craig Armstrong  and ‘Glasgow Rap’ by Johnnie Beattie. Any other suggestions?
